Lung cancer increasing amongst women

New research suggests that lung cancer will become predominantly a women's disease in Ireland within the next two decades.

The National Cancer Registry says lung cancer, which is mainly caused by smoking, is increasing by 3% a year among women.

The research also shows that far more middle-aged women than men are smokers, and that women find it more difficult than men to give up smoking.
