The North's Security Minister, Jane Kennedy, has launched a new scheme whereby victims of crimes will be notified when prisoners are to be released.
The Prisoner Release Victim Information Scheme will allow victims of those given prison sentences to opt into the scheme, allowing them to be notified when a prisoner is to be released, either temporarily or at the end of a sentence.
Victims can also make representations when a prisoner is being considered for temporary release.
