Sinn Féin mayor elected in Armagh

Armagh City Council has elected a Sinn Féin Mayor for the first time in its 30-year history at today's annual meeting.

Armagh City Council has elected a Sinn Féin Mayor for the first time in its 30-year history at today's annual meeting.

The mother of five and Sinn Féin Councillor, Pat O'Rawe, was chosen on the casting vote of the outgoing SDLP Mayor, Councillor Anna Brolly.

But the new Mayor will have no back-up from a Deputy Mayor as no nominations for the post were put forward.
