Drogheda bypass officially opened

The €246m Drogheda bypass has been officially opened.

The 21-kilometre stretch of motorway will cut between 25 and 45 minutes off the journey time between Dublin and Belfast, as well as take 15,000 vehicles out of Drogheda.

The bypass is, however, Ireland's latest toll road. The charge for a car is €1.50.
