Man charged over attack on tourists

A man has been in court in Dublin charged in connection with an assault on two tourists in the city at the weekend.

A man has been in court in Dublin charged in connection with an assault on two tourists in the city at the weekend.

Michael Frith, a 33-year-old from Australia, had been staying at Litton Lane Hostel

He was charged under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Persons Act. He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Friday.

The tourists, a woman in her 60s and another in her 40s, were attacked on Clare Street off Westland Row on Sunday night.

They had to be treated in hospital for facial injuries.
