Ferns files forwarded to Murphy Inquiry

A Diocese of Ferns spokesperson has said all files relating to a priest who allegedly carried out sexual abuse in a Wexford parish have been forwarded to the Murphy Inquiry.

In a statement issued by the diocese, a spokesperson said that Bishop Eamonn Walsh visited three churches in the parish of Ballindaggin yesterday.

During his visit to the parish, Bishop Walsh addressed the matter of child sexual abuse involving a priest of the diocese who had served in the parish in the past. The priest in question is now deceased.
