A High Court challenge to the use of Shannon airport by US military aircraft may not proceed as planned this week because of a row over documents.

A High Court challenge to the use of Shannon airport by US military aircraft may not proceed as planned this week because of a row over documents.

Retired army officer, Edward Horgan, who is taking the action, is seeking documents related to the alleged long-standing arrangements for overflights and landings of US military aircraft.

Mr Horgan is also looking for the agreement of 19 March, allowing Shannon to be used by Iraq-bound aircraft.

The State and the Government have argued that much of the document sought is irrelevant and not necessary for the action.

The President of the High Court said he would rule on the documents issue tomorrow afternoon unless the two sides reached some agreement in the interim.
