Bloody Sunday relatives meet PSNI Chief
Relatives of those shot dead by British soldiers on Bloody Sunday in 1972 met with the PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde at a hotel in Derry this morning.
The meeting followed a recent newspaper article, in which Mr Orde criticised the Saville inquiry. He subsequently clarified his remarks.
Liam Wray, whose brother Jim was one of the 14 victims, said he had been slightly shocked by the initial comments but accepted that Mr Orde had since issued a clarification.
He said he expected Mr Orde to do his job and he welcomed the debate on the issue.
Mr Orde said afterwards it had been a dignified meeting with dignified people. He also said he had made it clear that he never said the inquiry was a waste of money.
