Shots fired at US convoy in Kuwait

The US military in Kuwait has said that shots were fired in the vicinity of a US military convoy on a highway south of Kuwait City. There were no casualties.

The incident follows just days after a gunman killed an American working for the US army in Kuwait and wounded another.

The gunman opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle at a car carrying two American civilians working at Camp Doha, the main US military base in Kuwait, on Tuesday.

The ambush killed 46-year-old Michael Rene Pouliot and injured his colleague David Caraway.

Kuwait's Interior Ministry said a 25-year-old Kuwaiti man had confessed to the attack, saying he was a self-professed al Qaeda supporter.
