The Bishop of Limerick, Dr Donal Murray, has tonight appealed to anyone who has information about Eddie and Kieran Ryan to help in finding them and to bring them safely home.

It is over 24 hours since the two brothers were last seen near their homes in Limerick city, when they were confronted by two armed and masked men.

Dr Murray said this abduction and recent incidents in the city showed the pointless cruelty of violence and intimidation.

A major investigation is underway to try to locate two brothers. Gardaí believe their abduction may be linked to a family feud.

Their father, Eddie Ryan Senior, was shot dead in a crowded bar in Limerick over two years ago.
