Gardaí are searching for two teenagers and a 27-year-old man who left hospital this morning after they were treated for injuries sustained in a high-speed car crash.

The three stole a car and crashed it into the Seatown roundabout at around 11.30pm yesterday. The 16-year-old driver ran from the scene but was arrested.

All three were taken to Beaumont Hospital but RTÉ News has now learned they checked themselves out and took a taxi home. Their injuries were not serious and all three walked out of the hospital at around 7am today.

Gardaí say they are following a definite line of inquiry.

It is believed they stole a car after a court appearance in Drogheda and robbed a house on their way back to Dublin.

Gardaí were alerted and a garda patrol car pursued the car at Swords in north Dublin. The youths crashed the stolen car, a Nissan Micra, into the Seatown roundabout on the M1 near Swords.

All three are known to the Gardaí. The two juveniles have been charged previously with road traffic offences; the 16-year-old driver would be considered a prolific car thief with over 40 convictions for driving or being in stolen cars.
