Talks aimed at agreeing a new national pay deal between unions and employers will continue tomorrow morning.

Despite almost four hours of talks this afternoon, there has been little if any movement on the core issues under discussion.

The two sides met separately with the Secretary General of the Department of the Taoiseach, Dermot McCarthy.

Going into the meeting, IBEC's Turlough O'Sullivan, said he was not optimistic that the wide gaps which exist between his group and the unions could be bridged.
