The Afghan government has said a report that an Afghan passenger airliner, which had to land in the United Arab Emirates, had been hijacked was a false alarm.
The plane was travelling to the annual Islamic Haj in Saudi Arabia from the western Afghan city of Herat.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Omar Samad, said the plane had been forced to land by US led coalition forces which had been following it.
