David Begg Complex issues to be discussed
The prospect of a new agreement was discussed at Government Buildings this evening with delegations from the employers' group, IBEC, and the Congress of Trade Unions.
Before the meeting, the Director General of IBEC, Turlough O'Sullivan, said he was pessimistic and he accused the ICTU President, Joe O'Toole, of making matters worse by negotiating over the air waves at the weekend.
The ICTU General Secretary, David Begg, said it was unlikely that a deal would be completed by Wednesday. He added, however, that it should be possible by then to know whether a new deal is possible.
Talks have been adjourned until tomorrow.
