In an action brought by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulations, Ger Madden with an address at Larkin's Cross, Parteen, County Clare was charged with the illegal broadcasts of Radio Limerick One on a number of frequencies on 4 January.
The court heard that the interference being caused by the illegal broadcasts was so extensive that it rendered one of the channels being used by Air Traffic controllers at Shannon, unusable.
The broadcasts were also causing interference with television broadcasts in the King's Island area of Limerick city.
However all charges were dismissed after it was found that the evidence to be used in the case was gathered on foot of a search warrent issued in Clare, when the Directors office brought the prosecution in the Limerick City jurisdiction.
