NESC considers next social partnership talks

Updated: 19:58, Tuesday, 29 October 2002

Members of the National Economic and Social Council met today to try to finalise a report which will provide the blueprint for the next social partnership talks.

It had been hoped that the report would be ready by this Thursday, when the first formal plenary session of the partnership talks will take place.

However, it is unlikely that the report will be complete in time for that session.

It is understood that today's meeting focused on finalising the key conclusions and recommendations of the report, which provides a detailed analysis of key social and economic issues.

The NESC is made up of representatives of the Government and the social partners.
