The three-way coalition has struggled to overcome deep divisions over whether to support proposals for ten countries to join the European Union at next week's EU summit.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister resigned earlier today.
Eduard Bomhoff and Herman Heinsbroek had been battling for control of LPF, the fledgling party of assassinated right winger Pim Fortuyn.
The Liberal VVD party, which rules in coalition with the conservative CDA party and LPF, had already called for Prime Minister Jan-Peter Balkenende's government to quit en masse.
The LPF took second place in May elections behind the CDA.
