Germany and Holland hold talks on CAP reform

Germany and the Netherlands are reported to have agreed that the countries currently benefiting from the EU's Common Agricultural Policy should give up some of their advantages if the ten candidate EU countries are also to receive direct CAP aid.

Germany and the Netherlands are reported to have agreed that the countries currently benefiting from the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy should give up some of their advantages if the ten candidate EU countries are also to receive direct CAP aid.

After meeting the Dutch Prime Minister in Berlin last night, the German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said the countries that get something should be prepared to let go part of it

However, President Chirac of France has already said he is against any CAP reform before 2006.
