Arafat would 'welcome' reform of Palestinian Authority

The Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has said he favours reforms to the Palestinian Authority even if they undermine him.

Earlier this year, Washington called for reforms and a new leadership "not compromised by terror" before talks on Palestinian statehood could resume. Mr Arafat said he would welcome any reforms that would assist his cause.
