Blix expects unlimited access in Iraq, Talks on return of UN weapons inspectors
The United Nations chief weapons inspector, Hans Blix, has said he expects his team to have unlimited access to sites in Iraq when they return there after a gap of nearly four years.
He said he did not believe that even President Saddam Hussein's palaces would be closed to the monitors, in spite of earlier doubts about their accessibility.
Mr Blix was speaking in Vienna at the start of two days of talks between UN and Iraqi officials to work out arrangements for the return of the inspectors.
Iraq has promised them unfettered access under the threat of an American-led military attack.
