PSNI revisit scene of journalist's murder

Police in the North have revisited the scene of the murder of Sunday World journalist, Martin O'Hagan, in a further attempt to find his killer.

51-year-old Mr O'Hagan was shot dead by the Loyalist Volunteer Force outside his home on the Tandragee Road in Lurgan, Co Armagh on 28 September last year, after walking home from the pub with his wife.

Eight people have so far been interviewed. But the PSNI say one suspect has yet to be located and is understood to be living outside the jurisdiction.

It is believed the reporter was killed because he was too close to unmasking members of the LVF who were involved in the drugs trade.

The National Union of Journalists said the killing had been a direct attack on the freedom of the press.
