The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Brian Cowen, has delivered an address on the Iraqi issue to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Mr Cowen said Iraq had the power to end the predicament it was in by allowing weapons inspectors to undertake the work authorised by the UN Security Council.
He also said the UN must face up to its responsibilities if Baghdad continues to defy the organisation.
