Theatre nurses at the Mid West Regional Hospital in Limerick & Nenagh and Ennis General Hospitals are to take industrial action on Monday in a dispute over pay for on-call duty.

The nurses, who are all members of the INO, have voted to begin a work to rule at 8am next Monday, in which they will not do any non-nursing duties.

Lunchtime protests are also planned at Nenagh and Ennis that day, as well as a further protest from 4-5pm at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick. Nurses say the rate of less than €1 per hour for on-call duty is totally unacceptable.

The Health Boards said negotiations on this issue are continuing.
