Swedish police are continuing to question a man on suspicion of planning to hijack a plane en route from Stockholm to London, amid speculation that he intended to crash it into a US embassy in Europe.
The chief of the national security police confirmed that the man has received flying lessons in the US, but denied a report from a military intelligence source that the man was planning to crash the plane into an embassy.
The suspect - who had attempted to carry a gun onto the Ryanair flight - has been moved to a high security prison and may be charged on Monday.
