Pilots killed after helicopter shot down

A Russian military helicopter has been shot down in the breakaway republic of Chechnya, killing two Russian pilots on board.

The helicopter was on a mission to deliver food to military units in mountainous areas when it went down.

Chechen rebels are reported to have claimed responsibility on their website.

The incident comes less than two weeks after a Russian military helicopter was shot down by a missile in Chechnya, with the loss of 118 lives.
