The Swedish Police have confirmed that the Swedish citizen of Tunisian origin arrested in Sweden on Thursday night - on suspicion he was about to hijack a Ryanair plane bound for Stansted airport - had received flight training in the US.
There are mixed reports that the man was planning to crash the aircraft into a US embassy in Europe.
Reuters news agency quote Swedish intelligence sources as saying the 29-year-old man may have been working with others on the plan.
Police are looking for four more men, including an explosives expert.
