The Swedish Police have confirmed that the Swedish citizen of Tunisian origin arrested in Sweden on Thursday night - on suspicion he was about to hijack a Ryanair plane bound for Stansted airport - had received flight training in the US.

There are mixed reports that the man was planning to crash the aircraft into a US embassy in Europe.
