Tara Mines to resume production in Co Meath

watch listen

It has been announced that Tara Mines will restart production at Navan in County Meath in September with the re-employment of 640 workers.

Tara Mines has already brought back 530 workers, and these employees will be rejoined by another 110 miners when production restarts in September.

The County Meath mine was closed in November of last year when 700 workers were temporarily laid off because of a fall in the global price of zinc.
