Swedish police say they are investigating whether or not a handgun discovered in the luggage of passengers boarding a Ryanair flight in Stockholm was linked to terrorism.
Staff at Vasteras airport found the weapon when passengers were passing through security as the Boeing jet was preparing to depart to Stanstead airport, outside London.
Police said a man arrested in connection with the discovery of the weapon was a 29-year-old Swedish citizen living in the city who was originally from Tunisia.
They said he was part of a group of 20 people, all of whom are being questioned.
Police ordered all passengers to leave the plane. Police and bomb squad officers are carrying out an extensive search of all the flight's 189 passengers, the luggage and the Ryanair jet.
