The hotly-tipped Italian entrant, Tamara Gervasoni, won the 44th annual Rose of Tralee competition last night.

The hotly-tipped Italian entrant, Tamara Gervasoni, won the 44th annual Rose of Tralee competition last night. 22-year-old Ms Gervasoni, whose mother comes from Co Longford, is a telemarketing executive.
It was the first time there was an Italian entrant in the competition.
This year's competition also included first-time entrants from Luxembourg, Dubai and Philadelphia.
