Fiona Gahan, who is suing the State and the former Bishop of Ferns, Dr Brendan Comiskey, has secured a Circuit Court order allowing her access to files on the priest who she says abused her.
Two Catholic bishops, the Department of Justice and the Gardai have been given eight weeks to hand over files relating to Fr Jim Grennan, a priest at the centre of a sex abuse scandal in Co. Wexford.
Ms Gahan is taking the case against Dr Comiskey and the State over their handling of abuse allegations regarding abuse she says took place in 1988.
The auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, Dr Eamonn Walsh, now Apostolic Administrator in the Diocese of Ferns, was added by consent to the order for discovery of documents from the investigation into the church's handling of the case.
The court heard that the South Eastern Health Board were fully cooperating with the request from Ms Gahan's legal team, and that the Minister for Justice had consented to the order.
