Police clashed with Nationalists following a controversial Orange Order march through West Belfast this afternoon. Water canons were brought in after stones, bottles, bricks and paint bombs were thrown, by a crowd of around 300 nationalists.

The incident happened as Orangemen marched to Whiterock Orange Hall.

The clash followed overnight disturbances in the east of the city.

Two police officers were injured when a crowd of about 150 attacked police with blast bombs, petrol bombs, stones and bricks after they were called to the Short Strand area at around 3am this morning.

Two houses in the loyalist Cluan Place were damaged by fire, one severely, after they were hit by petrol bombs.
