The Minister was responding to the decision of the tobacco industry to file a court action against the Government over the legislative change.

The industry says the move is anti-competitive and will make it impossible for the companies to legitimately sell their products.

However, Minister Martin insisted that the legislation would be introduced and said it had the backing of all members of the Dáil.
