Mobile phone manufacturer, Motorola, is cutting 7,000 jobs worldwide after losing nearly $4 billion last year.

Mobile phone manufacturer, Motorola, is cutting 7,000 jobs worldwide after losing nearly $4 billion last year.

The company says the restructuring should help bring it back into profit by the end of the year.

The company employs 550 people in Cork and about 50 in Dublin, but a spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether these workers would be affected.
