The new Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny, has begun a series of consultative meetings with party members and supporters around the country.
Speaking at the first of these meeting in Navan this evening, Mr Kenny said the time for political mourning is now over.
Mr Kenny said that he had not come to salvage what remains of the party but to begin the rebuilding process.
