Catholic bishops in the United States are believed to be moving closer to agreeing a policy that would defrock all priests found guilty of child abuse either in the past, or in the future.
The Bishops will vote today at a conference in Dallas, Texas on a national policy for dealing with perpetrators and victims of child sex abuse by clerics.
