Dairy farmers in milk price protest

Dairy farmers have been protesting outside Government Buildings in Dublin over cuts in the prices they are receiving for milk.

The IFA is taking the action because it wants a vigorous campaign in the European Union from the incoming Government to help solve what it says is an income crisis in farming.

The IFA leader, John Dillon, said the new Government must take action on a number of fronts to defend the Irish dairy industry.
