Twenty five workers are to lose their jobs at the Fonderman factory in Longford in July.
Fonderman Closing in July
The company which manufactures safety goggles and helmets for industry is closing down after a decision by the parent group to conslidate its operations at plants in Ireland and Britain. Fonderman has been operating in Longford for nearly 40 years.
Negotiations will now get underway with SIPTU on the terms of redundancy for the workforce, many of whom have been with the company for over 25 years.
