An Arabic-language newspaper has reported that the al-Qaeda terrorist network led by Osama bin Laden has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a synagogue in Tunisia last month.
The paper, published in the Gulf state of Dubai, quoted an al-Qaeda commander as saying that the bomber had been a member of the group.
It is the first time al-Qaeda has claimed any involvement in the blast, in which 21 people were killed, including 14 German tourists.
