German company to create 50 new jobs in Waterford

Fifty new jobs have been promised for Waterford over the next four years.

Fifty new jobs have been promised for Waterford over the next four years. German company Guehring is invest €10m to establish a factory in the city for the coating of metal cutting tools. The investment is supported by the IDA.

Guehring is a world leader in coating technology for metal cutting tools and one of the world's largest producers of rotating metal cutting tools. It employs 3,300 worldwide in 15 production centres and 26 coating centres. Its clients include Boeing, Airbus, General Motors, Ford and BMW.

Making the announcement in Waterford today, Tánaiste Mary Harney said the Waterford centre will start production within a couple of months. It is set to become the company's largest coating centre.
