Anti-Agreement Unionists in the North have tabled a parliamentary motion proposing the exclusion of Sinn Féin from the Executive. It is proposed the party be excluded for one year.
The exclusion motion was lodged in the names of DUP MLAs, Dr Ian Paisley and Willie McCrea, and the UKUP leader Robert McCartney. It claims Sinn Féin is not committed to exclusively peaceful means.
The motion will be debated on Wednesday next. A senior Sinn Féin spokesperson said that the motion would fail as there was no basis to exclude Sinn Féin from government.
