An Bord Pleanála has given the go-ahead to the construction of the tallest building in the country.

An Bord Pleanála has given the go-ahead to the construction of the tallest building in the country. The 19-storey building is part of a major development at Sir John Rogerson's Quay in Dublin's south docklands.

The development is scheduled to contain 7,950 square metres of office accommodation, 231 residential units, shops, restaurants, and a leisure centre. The An Bord Pleanála decision was taken last night but only announced today.

In its statement, it said the proposed development was appropriate, would not injure the amenities of the area and would be acceptable in terms of traffic.
