Fears that flooding could affect tunnel plansThursday 07 February 2002 17.51
The authorities running the Dublin Port Tunnel are conducting an investigation to see if the recent flooding in North Dublin could affect the €448m project. A spokesman said that they hoped to have an understanding by Monday.
Meanwhile, unofficial strike action at Dublin's Port Tunnel has been averted following all-day talks. Representatives from SIPTU and the Construction Industry Federation have agreed to meet later this week over disputed work practices, which led to 130 workers mounting unofficial pickets yesterday.
