Woman arrested in Dundalk stabbing investigation

A woman in her twenties has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the death of a man in an apparent stabbing in Dundalk. The woman is being questioned at Dundalk Garda station.

The man, believed to have been in his thirties, was found dead at a house at Slieve Rowe Crescent, Muirhevnamore, by an ambulance team that had been called to the scene early today.

A 28-year-old woman also suffered what appeared to be stab wounds to the neck. She was subsequently taken to hospital.

The State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, has carried out a post-mortem examination of the man.

The victim's name is not being released until all relatives have been informed.
