The Special Criminal Court has already heard that Mr Gilligan's assets include an equestrian centre, three houses, six vehicles, and 16 bank accounts.
The court rejected an application by Mr Gilligan's lawyers for certificates from the British Secretary of State and the Director of Public Prosecutions before the case could go ahead.
