The Sinn Féin President has said that his party's focus will be to try to ensure that the peace process does not collapse. Gerry Adams was speaking after an hour-long meeting this morning with Tony Blair at Downing Street.

However, Mr Adams warned that the political process would collapse if David Trimble followed through on walking away from the institutions as he has threatened to do.

Martin McGuinness denied newspaper reports that he has been reinstated at the top of the IRA army council and described the story as "total rubbish".

Mr McGuinness said that it was important to ensure that the Irish peace process was a success and an example to everyone throughout the world.
