Arafat supports US proposal for coalition

Yasser Arafat has called for Arab states to declare their readiness to join an international coalition against terror proposed by the United States.

The Palestinian President made his proposal during a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Amir Moussa. Mr Moussa warned of the dangers of hasty retaliation, however.
