Motorola jobs cuts not expected to hit Cork plant

Motorola has announced plans to shed a further 2,000 jobs worldwide.

Motorola has announced plans to shed a further 2,000 jobs worldwide. The American electronics company said that they made this decision because of poorer than expected sales figures for the third quarter. In a statement this morning Motorola said that it did not expect the announcement to have any impact on the company's operations in Cork where it employs over 600 workers.
