The Department of Foreign Affairs has inquired into the arrest of an Irish man in Genoa.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has inquired into the arrest of an Irish man in Genoa. It is expecting a response from the Italian Ministry tomorrow in relation to the arrest.

Thirty-year-old Joe Moffatt was arrested during the recent anti-globalisation protests in the city and charged with carrying a lethal weapon. He had been camping nearby and allegedly had a Swiss Army knife in his bag.
