1.00 News: Eilis Brennan, Business Correspondent, has the details on the ongoing Eircom saga
It has emerged that the latest bid for Eircom from the eIsland group is 1.29 euros a share. The consortium has increased its cash bid to buy Eircom by half a cent a share. Shareholders can now elect to take cash instead of the warrant that would give them a future stake in the profits of the company. It is unclear how much the rival Valentia consortium has bid but it is thought eIsland is still ahead.
