LRC intervenes in Guinness dispute

The Labour Relations Commission has intervened this evening in the dispute at Guinness Ireland and talks are expected to open early this week.

The Labour Relations Commission has intervened this evening in the dispute at Guinness Ireland and talks are expected to open early this week. LRC Chief Executive, Kieran Mulvey said that he planned to invite Guinness management and the joint union forum at the company to immediate talks aimed at preventing a strike on Thursday. Pickets are threatened over the company's plans to close its Dundalk plant with the loss of 14O jobs. In a separate dispute Aer Lingus pilots are also expected to take part in conciliation talks with management at the LRC tomorrow.
